HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 24

Amending the rules of the House of Delegates, by adding
thereto a new rule, relating to prohibiting the use of
communications devices within the confines of the Chamber,
Galleries and Committee Rooms of the House of Delegates.

Resolved by the House of Delegates:

That the rules of the House of Delegates be amended by adding
thereto a new rule, designated House Rule 136b, to read as follows:
Communications Devices

136b. The use of communications devices, except as may be
authorized by the Committee on Rules, is prohibited in the House
Chamber and House Galleries during sessions or public hearings and
in House committee rooms during committee meetings or public
hearings. The Sergeant at Arms is charged with strict enforcement
of this rule, and the persistent neglect or disregard of this rule
shall be cause for such punishment as may be prescribed by the
Committee on Rules.
